Privacy Policy

KifuLens respects the privacy of your games.

Summary

KifuLens is a Go board scanner and scorekeeper. We do not sell personal data, show third-party advertising, or track you across other apps or websites. The app does not require a KifuLens account.

Boards and saved games

Manual board positions, scoring settings, saved games, and exported SGF files are created and stored on your device. They remain there until you delete them or remove the app. KifuLens does not operate a cloud account system for these records.

Photos and optional AI recognition

KifuLens receives only a board photo you capture or select. When you explicitly start photo recognition, the selected and optimized board image is transmitted securely through the KifuLens processing service to MiniMax to identify board intersections and stones.

The photo is used only to return the requested board result. KifuLens does not use it for advertising, profiling, or training its own models. The KifuLens service is designed not to persist the raw photo or model response after the request completes, and its operational logs exclude photo contents, authorization values, and complete model responses. MiniMax processes the request under its own API privacy policy.

If you do not use photo recognition, no board photo is sent to MiniMax. You can always use manual board editing instead.

Purchases and scan credits

Apple processes payments. KifuLens uses RevenueCat to obtain product offerings, confirm the Pro entitlement, restore purchases, and maintain the AI scan-credit balance. RevenueCat may process a random anonymous app user identifier, product and transaction information, entitlement status, credit balance, and app or device details needed to operate and troubleshoot purchases. KifuLens does not receive your payment-card information.

Retention and your choices

  • Delete saved games inside KifuLens, or remove the app, to remove local app data.
  • Do not start photo recognition if you do not want a selected board photo sent for processing.
  • KifuLens does not intentionally retain photo-recognition content after a request completes. Service providers may retain required records under their policies and applicable law.
  • Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records as needed to provide purchases, restoration, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance.

Service providers

This legal site is hosted on Vercel and contains no KifuLens analytics or advertising cookies. Vercel may process ordinary network request logs to deliver and secure the site.

Children

KifuLens is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise any child’s use of cloud photo recognition.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when KifuLens or its service providers change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. For privacy questions or requests, use the developer contact shown under App Support on the KifuLens App Store product page.
